What’s in a name?
- 1954: Founded in Rosemead, California as Universal Savings and Loan Association.
- 1984: The name was changed to Universal Savings Bank.
- 1992: After approval from our regulator (the Office of Thrift Supervision), Universal Bank becomes a Federal Savings Bank. Its name became Universal Bank F.S.B.
- 1996: By Board and Shareholder approval, the name change to Universal Bank is made.
But whatever the name, one thing has remained a constant since its inception; Universal Bank remains a stable and financially sound institution.
