VP BRANCH SUPPORT OFFICER

Corporate Office / All Branch Locations

DEPARTMENT:            Retail Banking

REPORTS TO:              CEO/President

SALARY:                      $80,000 - $100,000 Depending on Experience

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a VP Branch Support Officer overseeing five branch locations, you will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all sites. Your role involves training staff, implementing marketing strategies, setting and achieving branch goals, and managing staffing needs. You will work closely with branch managers to enhance performance, streamline processes, and support the overall growth and efficiency of the branches. Your leadership will be crucial in driving team development, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring alignment with bank objectives and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversight and Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to branch managers and staff across multiple locations to ensure adherence to branch policies and procedures and uniformity of retail banking best practices. Supports the development and implementation of deposit products.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of all branches ensuring efficient and effective performance, compliance with regulations, and adherence to operational standards. Serve as a primary escalation resource for senior branch personnel.
  • Operational Support: Provide professional, technical and administrative support to all branches.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and update retail banking policies and procedures with senior management and colleagues.
  • Performance Monitoring: Analyze branch performance metrics, set targets, and implement strategies to achieve branch goals and improve overall performance.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor branch managers and staff. Foster a positive work environment and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Develop Training Programs: Create and update training materials and programs tailored for retail banking staff, focusing on operational procedures, customer service, products and services and compliance.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Deliver training workshops and sessions for new hires and existing employees to ensure they understand company policies, systems, and best practices.
  • Schedule Management: Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts, including handling time-off requests, unplanned absences, and peak periods within the branches. Coordinate existing staff or arrange for temporary help when employees are unavailable due to illness, vacations, or other reasons. Provide coverage at branch locations when needed.
  • Customer Service: Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained across all branches. Address and resolve escalated customer issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive growth and increase market share. Identify opportunities for business expansion and community engagement.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute regional strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all branches comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Identify potential risks and implement measures to mitigate risk.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports on branch performance, operational issues, and market trends to senior management. Facilitate effective communication and coordination between branches and headquarters. Review system-generated reports for accuracy.
  • Audit Management: Facilitate all retail banking internal, external and regulatory audits. Act as the primary point of contact for auditors, facilitating their access to required information and staff. Address any audit findings or recommendations by implementing corrective actions and ensuring that improvements are made. Conduct follow-up assessments to verify that the corrective actions have been successfully implemented. Review audit reports, provide responses, and participate in pre- and post-audit meetings.
  • Banking Systems and Applications: Develop and in-depth understanding of FIS Horizon XE, Image Center, H360, E-Wire, Verafin etc.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc programs, projects, and analyses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7 – 10 years of significant experience in branch management, with a proven track record of success in managing multiple locations or teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, including experience in supervising and developing branch managers and staff.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to address challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Operational Expertise: In-depth knowledge of branch operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements, with a history of optimizing operational efficiency and exceeding deposit and loan goals.

BANKING SYSTEMS & SERVICES ANALYST

SALARY RANGE:         $67,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually (depending on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Systems & Services Analyst drives internal product initiatives, controls, and issues that require immediate escalation. This role is the primary contact for Retail Banking applications, systems, escalated support and product enhancement requests. This role coordinates as well as participates in collaborative design discussions, document requirements, and tracks the progress of project tasks. This role is responsible for communicating project status to senior management and the Board of Directors.  In addition, the Banking Systems & Services Analyst proactively follows up with internal customers to ensure expectations are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Deposit Products and Services

  • Oversee deposit product developments by collaborating with key stakeholders to meet customer needs. These products and features must align with the Bank’s risk tolerance. Deposit products and services may include but are not limited to ACH/Check Positive Pay, Zelle, and any other future product or service offerings. 
  • Manage FIS bulletins and act as a project lead when there are enhancements to the current systems, this includes but is not limited to Horizon, TruStage, and Online Banking (Consumer/Business).
  • Acts as a liaison between FIS and the Bank to help troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to any Retail Banking system not limited to Horizon, BEB, CST, DLM, FXD.
  • Lead system testing for various initiatives and product and service testing.
  • Ensure compliance and system controls are in place for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Department to update any system-generated compliance disclosures as needed.
  • Participate in the development and renewal of policies, procedures and risk assessments.
  • Stay abreast of FIS product offerings and ensure the full potential of the current purchased system. 
  • Monitor the competitor landscape for deposit products and offerings to see where Universal Bank falls in line with our competitor financial institution.
  • Managing the Bank’s deposit products portfolio is not limited to monitoring the penetration ratio.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology regarding system updates and releases.

 

Reporting, Analyzing and Presentations

  • Prepare and present deposit products presentation to ALCO and Board committee meetings monthly.
  • Execute online banking performance reports for monthly Executive and Board committee meetings.
  • Prepare and provide retail banking performance reports monthly.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as requested.

Support Responsibilities

  • Once a year assist with Year End Processing.
  • Assist Central Operation and Retail Banking team members as needed.
  • Provide coverage and back up for Central Operations team members.
  • Contribute ideas and expertise for the overall growth of the Bank.
  • Complete required training within Regulatory University, FIS Academy and KnowB4 training applications.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 5+ years of bank operations experience required.
  • Must have advanced knowledge working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Detailed knowledge of operational processes related to all cash management products and services, how to set up the products and assist in problem resolution.

CREDIT PORTFOLIO ANALYST

SALARY RANGE:         $22.00 - $28.00 per hour (depending on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Credit Portfolio Analyst is an entry point and career development position within a community bank. This position will work with the Senior Portfolio Manager, Loan Service Manager and Chief Credit officer to provide loan reviews, serve our customers, and protect the quality of the Bank's loan portfolio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Calculate financial statements for the credit quality of commercial real estate loan portfolio.
  • Perform financial analysis to calculate property and global debt coverage ratios.
  • Prepare comprehensive  written analysis and reviews in a memorandum format.
  • Conduct risk assessments, annual loan reviews, and downgrade reviews.
  • Identify risk issues, mitigating factors, and action plans for troubled loans.
  • Partner with underwriting team and loan servicing team to ensure loan covenants and conditions are satisfied.
  • Respond to audit inquiries and responses.
  • Provide support to the senior loan portfolio manager.
  • Other projects as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business preferred or equivalent education and training.
  • Formal credit training preferred.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of credit analysis or related corporate banking experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking products is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience with FIS Horizon XE and Abrigo software highly preferred.

BRANCH OPERATIONS MANAGER

Monterey Park Branch

DEPARTMENT:           Retail Banking

REPORTS TO:              Head of Retail Banking  

SUPERVISES:               Branch Staff

FLSA STATUS:             Exempt

SALARY RANGE:         $67,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually (depending on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for branch personnel, operations of the branch, to include new account openings, teller operations, sales, and business development. Acquisition and retention of all deposit accounts. Develop branch personnel into highly proficient persons in customer service, public relations, and bank technical knowledge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Perform in sales effort of the branch, including the conduct, work habits and professionalism conducive to an effective sales effort.
  • Engage in business development activities by soliciting new accounts in branch’s geographical area and identifying new market opportunities. 
  • Meet or exceed company profit goals.  Keep in line with UB growth strategy.  Manage Branch Financial and budget information.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the business such as Accounting, HR, Sales, and Operations.
  • Address customer issues and concerns promptly.
  • Responsible for reviewing branch certifications; training and supervision of subordinate staff in implementation of policies and procedures, review new account openings to ensure adherence to bank compliance.
  • Source, train, coach and develop staff. Ensures staff understands and follows all UB policies and procedures to maintain required security, operation, and service quality standards.
  • Assist in the supervision or conducting Human Resources procedures for the branch, including hiring, training, employee development, performance evaluation, career path, discipline of employees and other related matters.
  • Review and approve timecard report and maintain attendance record.

BRANCH OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR FLOATER

REPORTS TO:              Branch Operations Manager

SUPERVISES:               Branch Staff When Manager is Absent

FLSA STATUS:             Non-Exempt

SALARY RANGE:         $28.00 - $33.00 per hour (depending on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees all operations of the branch, including new accounts, teller operations and the safe deposit area. Responsible for the acquisition and retention of deposit accounts. Develops branch personnel into highly proficient persons in public relations, customer service and technical knowledge. Responsible for the office in the absence of the Branch Operations Manager. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform all regular daily functions including supervision of branch staff, opening, and closing following procedures set by corporate security and various operational tasks/assignments requested by the Branch Operations Manager.
  • Assist Branch Operations Manager with training, coaching, developing, supervision of staff, branch certifications and regularly conducting audits implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Adhere to all BSA/AML (Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering) policies and procedures, including but not limited to the processing of CTR’s (Currency Transaction Reports), SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports) and MILs (Monetary Instrument Logs).

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Universal Banker/New Accounts Floater position is responsible for creating and sustaining relationships with all new and existing customers in a courteous and professional manner.  Adheres to Universal Banks’s Red-Carpet Customer Service standards.   Perform over-the-counter teller transactions and new account activities to meet customer’s financial needs. Under supervision, the position is responsible for servicing customers by conducting transactions, resolving customer inquiries, performing teller functions and related activities. Deepening relationship with customers by offering financial product solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing excellent customer service by promoting strong customer interactions, building strong relationships.
  • Providing customer assistance with everyday transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and payment. Including processing outgoing wire transfers.
  • Directs complex questions to Branch Operations Supervisor or Branch Operations Manager.
  • Balances cash drawer, night-drop deposit, and daily work in a reasonable time.

SALARY:                     $18.00 - $23.00 hourly depending on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Universal Banker is responsible for handling routine financial transactions and providing excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Processing Transactions: Handling deposits, withdrawals, and transfers, as well as cashing checks and issuing cashier’s checks.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with account inquiries, resolving issues, and provide information about bank products and services. Provide excellent customer service to build strong customer relationships.
  • Accuracy and Security: Ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and maintain the confidentiality of customer information.
  • Compliance: Adhering to banking regulations and procedures, including anti-money laundering laws and fraud prevention practices.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of transactions and balancing cash drawers at the end of shifts.
